zion Amosi Appointed As Director of the Electricity Administration at the Ministry of National Infrastructures
zion Amosi was appointed as Director of the Electricity Administration at the Ministry of National Infrastructures. Amosi will replace Dr. Dan Weistock, who served in office for three years. Amosi has almost 30 years of experience in the fields of electricity, energy and supervision.
Born in 1950, Amosi has a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree in electricity and electronic engineering from the Technion and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the College of Management.
He served as Assistant Director General of Engineering at “Siemens Israel” Company, Director General of “Ha’merkaz Le’chashmal” Company, Head of Engineering and projects Department in “Manolad” Company, National Service Manager in “Elco” Company and Head of Power Plants and Control Branch of the Israeli Air Force (ranked as Major).
Amosi executed special projects of infrastructure for the Ashkelon desalination facility, portable transformation stations for the Electrical Company, energy infrastructures for the “Arrow” System and infrastructures for the train stations in Modi’in.
Amosi was chosen for the position by the Localization Committee of the Ministry of National Infrastructures and his nomination was approved by the Minister of National Infrastructures, Binyamin (Fuad) Ben Eliezer and all the Ministers of the cabinet.
In a meeting they held a few weeks ago, Minister Ben Eliezer told Amosi that he faces many challenges, first and foremost is furthering the development of Israel’s electricity industry and preparing it for the challenges of coming years. “You will have to continue the implementation of Israel’s electricity emergency plan in full steam and to integrate as swiftly as possible renewable-energy-based power plants”.
