The Geological Survey of Israel is a state-run research institution that advises the government regarding soil sciences and acts as a support unit of the Soil Sciences Administration of the Ministry of National Infrastructures.

Its task is to permit long-lasting development by means of the intelligent use of natural resources in Israel, such as sources of energy and water, and by evaluation of environmental risks, such as earthquakes and pollution of water sources.
